Two cute kids

I'm of course talking about Logan and ME!! Today is our birthday(s). I'm not quite sure of the proper way to say that. Oh well! Today, I turn 29 and Logan turns 4! I can't believe he's that old already. I can't believe I'm that old already!! We've got a fun weekend planned ahead of us with a lot of celebrating.

Three weeks already?!!?!

I can't believe how fast time is going by. On Monday, Sawyer will be 3 weeks old! Pretty soon he's going to be to big to wear his little tiny clothes. He seems to grow change everyday. He's starting to sleep less during the day and more at night. I still have to wake up 3 or 4 times to feed him, but he seems to go back to sleep faster. Before he was wanting to stay up and look around for awhile and just hang out. His feet can finally touch the bottoms of his pajamas! It doesn't look like hanging skin anymore. Sawyer was circumcised on Thursday. He wasn't too happy with us that afternoon. But he's doing ok now.

Chris only has one week left of his paternity leave. I'm terrified of him going back to work. I got a little taste of what my days are going to be like on Tuesday. Chris was taking an early morning nap and I had to get Brandon ready for school, keep Logan under control, and calm down the screaming baby all at the same time. And of course we were running late. It's going to be a lot of work. But I'll have to manage somehow.

It's been weird getting used to the whole "baby" thing again. I always forget to grab the diaper bag when we go out. And I'm the type of person that can get the kids and myself ready and be out the door within 10 minutes. But now I have to remember to plan everything out extensively, because I have to make sure the baby is fed, changed, clothed, diaper bag packed, etc. It takes so much more time. So I'm still trying to adjust to that.

Ok, here is another adorable picture of Sawyer. I can't get over how cute this kid is!!

The best place in the world

Today we went and visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. The boys love going up to their house where they can run and run through the back of the property. My grandparents house was my favorite place to spend time as a kid and now my own kids get so excited at the idea of going to see their GREAT grandparents. Grandpa always has plenty of mints hidden away in his pocket to share with the boys and Grandma gives the best hugs around. And we can't forget Shadow, their shihtzu body guard that won't let anybody get in the way of their fun.
It was Sawyer's first visit to the house today and it certainly won't be the last. In a couple of years he'll be running behind his brothers through the garden, eating apples from the trees out back, and watching cartoons with Great Grandpa in the computer room.

First bath

When we took off his diaper and laid him in the tub, he immediatly started screaming and his entire body went stiff. But then I poured the first cup of warm water over his chest and he shut right up. He was in heaven after that. Sawyer LOVES baths. He just lays there all relaxed and calm. As long as you keep that water coming, he's good to go. We discovered after his first bath that his hair dries into a little curly mohawk on the top of his head. This dang kid just keeps getting cuter!!

See the resemblence?

Maybe it's just me, but I think that when Sawyer has his eyes open and is taking in the sights around him, he looks a little like ET.

Tiny fingers and tiny toes

Sawyer is so tiny. We really didn't think he was going to be so small. I love looking at his little hands and feet. He has perfect little nails and cute pudgy toes.

Daddy is the best

Sawyer loves to spend time on Daddy's chest. When he's with me he's always trying to eat. We say that I'm the fridge and dad is the comfy chair. He's so calm with him.
.

Somebody's a little upset

When Sawyer cries he looks JUST like Logan. The resemblence is insane to me. So here is a picture of him screaming his head off (probably because I was picking at him instead of feeding him) and then a little while later he is totally calm and making the "put the food in here" face.

Rashy baby

Here is a picture of the rash that Sawyer had the first couple days after he was born. His poor little face was so red and his eyes were so swollen. He could barely open them. It looked so painful!!

The dreaded wedding cake

As some of you know, my friend Kelsey got married the day before Sawyer was born. I stupidly offered to make the cake. So my last weekend before the baby came was spent baking and decorating instead of getting rest and spending time with my kids. It took forever and I wanted to throw it agains the wall many times, but I finished it and Kelsey loved it. So for those of you that wanted to see the finished cake, here it is. I know it doesn't look like much, but it did take a lot of work. And by the way, I'm never making a cake again as long as I live!! My kids will be lucky if they get them for their birthdays!
